That wraps up our coverage of this A League clash between Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC. Thank you for joining me, Zak Brown on Tribe! Until next time...
Wellington Phoenix, who have climbed one position in the table to 9th after tonight's result, will travel to Macarthur FC next up. Meanwhile, Sydney FC leap two places up to 4th above Macarthur FC and Western United, with all three of these teams locked level on 21 points. They will look to make it seven games unbeaten when they host Brisbane Roar in just 72 hours.
As for Sydney FC, they will undoubtedly be slightly disappointed with a draw, although they extend their unbeaten run to six games. The most notable moment of the game came when referee Shaun Evans awarded a penalty to Sydney FC in the second half, only for VAR to intervene. After watching the incident back on the monitor, Evans overturned his original decision, as Isaac Hughes had made clean contact with the ball during his challenge on Patryk Klimala. Despite both teams pushing for a late winner, there was little goalmouth action to report on.
The full-time whistle goes at Sky Stadium and it ends in a stalemate. Both goalkeepers were rarely threatened in truth, with the defences coming out well on top on this occasion. For Wellington Phoenix, they should be satisfied with a solid performance. Debutant goalkeeper Alby Kelly-Heald will be pleased with his first outing, keeping a clean sheet and generally looking assured with the ball at his feet.
90+6'
Isaac Hughes hoists the ball forward from just inside the Phoenix half, but Luke Supyk is caught offside, much to the disappointment of the home faithful.
90+5'
The ball is hoisted over the top of the Sydney FC defence by Paulo Retre, with Nathan Walker giving chase. But the linesman's flag is raised and Walker is caught offside. Sydney FC are keen to get the game underway quickly, with time fast running out.
90+4'
Hayden Matthews eventually scrambles the ball clear for Sydney FC, after Kazuki Nagasawa's free kick was initially met by Nathan Walker at the left post.
90+3'
Corban Piper drives past Joel King in a wide position on Wellington's right wing. King commits an obvious foul and Wellington Phoenix will have a great crossing opportunity from the subsequent free kick.
90+1'
Sydney FC make a late double change. Patryk Klimala and Joe Lolley are replaced by the fresh legs of Patrick Wood and Tiago Quintal in attack.
