Honours even at AAMI Park, as Arthur Diles' time in charge of Melbourne Victory begins with a draw against their fiercest rivals. It was a truly absorbing watch, and a game which could've gone either way. Having trailed at the break, Victory grew more and more into the contest and found themselves back on level terms with 25 minutes to go, Roderick Miranda turning the ball home from close range after a mistake from the otherwise-flawless Patrick Beach in the Melbourne City goal. There were chances at both ends to win it - Victory substitute Nishan Velupillay hitting the outside of the post and Callum Talbot forcing Jack Duncan to be at his best - but in the end, both sides collect a point for their efforts heading into Christmas.
