Argentina will contest the 2024 Copa America final after comfortably dispatching of Canada in the tournament's first semi-final. Make sure you join me again on Tribe tomorrow for live commentary of the second semi between Colombia and Uruguay. It's been a pleasure bringing you all the action from MetLife Stadium in New York this evening. For now, Harrison Ryburn signing out.
A really brave effort from Canada today, who pushed hard, but struggled to find the back of the net when the opportunities came. As mentioned, the high press implemented from Jesse Marsch caused all sorts of problems and upset the rhythm of their highly-fancied opponents. They just lacked a calm finisher up top with David and Larin though, and Canada have now scored just twice in the seven games that Marsch has been in charge. The Canucks play really entertaining football, but that little bit of innacuracy proved the difference in New York today. Their campaign isn't quite over yet, with the loser of tomorrow's second semi-final between Colombia and Uruguay set to play them for third-place in Charlotte.
Again it was unconvincing at times from Argentina today, but they took their chances when they came, and ultimately had too much class for Canada. The high press of their opposition put them under plenty of pressure whilst trying to play out from the back, but in the process, left plenty of space in-behind. The likes of Romero, De Paul, and Martinez were all good enough to exploit that space with long balls over the top, leading to the opening goal of the contest. Lionel Scaloni's men again dominated possession and dictated the tempo with over 60% of the possession, but probably would have envisioned having a little bit more control in what was a largely open and free-flowing contest. Nevertheless despite not being at their best, Argentina have again grinded out a victory, and another major trophy awaits Messi and co. in Miami.
Fulltime in New York and Argentina will get the chance to play for a record 16th Copa America title following a comfortable two-goal victory over Canada. Two goals in either half sealed the deal for the defending champions, with Julian Alvarez scoring in the first, and captain Lionel Messi notching his first goal of the tournament in the second. They now move onto their second consecutive Copa America final, and their fourth in the last five tournaments, with one of Uruguay or Colombia set to provide the opposition in Miami.

Into the third minute of four added on at the end of this one, and the Argentine fans are celebrating in the stands, as they have been for a long time now. Canada tru one last attack as Osorio comes forward down the left. He switches it across for Johnston on the opposite flank, but his delivery beats everyone at the back post and flies out of play for a goal kick. Emi Martinez will take his time with it.
90+1'
CHANCE! Another opportunity goes begging for Canada! Ahmed bursts forward down the left wing this time, before cutting back and lifting a delivery into the centre of the box. It falls perfectly for the unmarked head of Oluwaseyi, but he nods his effort inches wide of the right post.

CHANCE! Argentina give up possession deep inside their own half again, and Larin is quick to pounce again. He opens up for a shot on his left foot from the top of the box, in plenty of space. Martinez makes himself big to block the effort with his foot though, before collecting the rebound and snaffling the danger.

Molina picks up a yellow card for a strong challenge on Ahmed deep inside his own half.
